My mixed-media art usually starts from an idea or concept I’m learning more about and I use the art as a way to translate the words and perhaps diagrams and photographs into a new personal interpretation. You might like the idea behind the art, but often people just see a piece and it appeals to them because of the texture or colours more than the idea of it. You as the observer then give it new meaning–your own meaning. I love that.
